I met Jay at a Safety Conference in Devil’s Lake in 2024 and was very moved by the story he shared with us about his son. I am the Programming Director for the Greater Grand Forks HR Association and as part of that role, it is my responsibility to schedule speakers for our monthly HR Association meetings. I thought of Jay right away as someone who would be great to speak with our members about the importance of Workplace Safety. We not only invited our HR members, but we also invited peers of our community that deal with Safety in their workplaces. We had great turnout at the meeting and excellent feedback from attendees. Many of the attendees expressed that they appreciated how real Jay was and how open he was with sharing his personal story.
